Worktops may either be supported directly on cupboard units alternating with knee spaces, or using a steel frame.

Layouts may comprise Perimeter benches, Peninsula benches and Island benches.

Computer benches are usually 750mm deep to give sufficient room for the computer/screen and keyboard/mouse.
