The Roof
Mounted Extractor Fan is particular suited to low pressure fume extraction
systems generally associated with fume cupboards and fume hoods. This
range of equipment is specifically designed for corrosion resistant applications
and all parts in contact with the fumes are constructed from thermo plastic
materials.
Outside
mounting
The units are totally waterproof and constructed to prevent ingress of
water from riving rain or snow. The motors, generally standard totally
enclosed fan cooled units, are housed in PVC hood which is specially designed
to ensure that the motor will not overheat even in the most extreme conditions.
Due to its ease of installation, it is fixed directly to a prepared upstand
at roof level, costly and unsightly ducting generally associated with
conventional centrifugal fans is no longer required.
Fan
Casing -Fabricated from rigid PVC sheet
Impeller
- Forward multivane injection moulded polypropylene, this can be reversed
for greater performance variation.
Motors
- Brook Crompton or equal, all in compliance with B.S. 5000 and B.S. 4999
with standard motors IP55 which can be upgraded to suit customer requirements.
General
Specification
The units are available in five sizes, 160mm, 200mm, 250mm, 315mm, and
400mm, and incorporated PVC case and polypropylene impeller. The impeller
is of the forward curve multivane type, although this can be reversed
fro greater performance variation, manufactured by the injection moulding
process incorporating a steel boss for motor location. The fan case is
constructed throughout from PVC material and is arranged so as to incorporate
and horizontal tangential discharge which is protected by a corrosion
resistant grille. A specially designed inlet cone ensures an almost vortex
free air inlet with resultant low noise levels.
