EN14175 Fume Cupboard Standard
APMG's Airform range of bench mounted fume cupboards has been successfully tested to the new European fume cupboard standard EN 14175 (Part 3: Type test methods). We believe that APMG is the first UK manufacturer to have had its fume cupboards independently tested (by Invent UK Limited) to this new standard.
EN 14175 testing includes:
- Face velocity tests
- Containment tests
- Robustness of containment test
- Air exchange efficiency test
Robustness of containment is a new test that simulates a person walking across the face of a fume cupboard whilst it is in use. The test checks that any turbulence in the person's wake does not cause potentially dangerous substances to escape from the fume cupboard.
The above results were measured at a face velocity of 0.5m/s. EN14175 compliance was also achieved at lower face velocities, please contact APMG for more information.
EN14175 supercedes the BS7258 standard which the Airform range also meets.
