Airform Fume Cupboard Design Features
Aerodynamics
Airform Fume Cupboards have double angle side aerofoils to allow service valves to be positioned away from the sash opening, which together with our aerodynamic sash handle and sill profile, provides exceptional fume containment. As the sash approaches the closed position, an automatic bypass allows air to enter the upper part of the chamber, ensuring correct purging and minimal increase in face velocity.
Hinged Sill
The sill is hinged to provide safe and easy distribution of external power and data cabling.
Service Outlets
Up to 12 service outlets can be accommodated with control valves mounted on a removable service plate. Service outlets can be mounted on either side of the fume cupboard to suit the type of work.
Sash Stop
Electrically operated sash stop with simple push button override, linked to a 'sash high' visual/audio alarm. The sash or sashes are counterbalanced for smooth movement and are designed to prevent rapid descent in the event of cable failure.
Front Build
Our unique front build provides trouble free installation - the carcass can be installed first giving excellent access for the fume extraction system before the front is fitted. Access for maintenance is also easier than traditional designs. The front section including the sash and counter weight system, service control valves and electrical harness is fully assembled prior to leaving our factory which minimises on-site installation commissioning time.
Electrical Distribution
All electrical services are pre-wired back to input/output terminals mounted within a high level trunking. Good clear access is provided for both initial wiring and future maintenance.
Materials
The internal surfaces of the fume cupboard can be selected from a range of materials to suit any application. The most common materials are:
- Solid Grade Laminate
- Trespa
- PVC (White or Grey)
- Polypropylene (White or Grey)
- Fire Retardant Polypropylene
- Stainless Steel
- Cast Epoxy resin
- Ceramic
Mounting
Bench height fume cupboards can either be mounted on a steel support frame, MDF storage cupboards (Omega Pedestal range), or specialist storage cupboards for Acids and Flammables.
